Ross Jones
Ross Jones makes broadly political work. His most recent work seeks to distil a complicated political issue into one of its constituent parts, the painted or drawn object becoming a symbol for a wider theme. His work does not portray a singular viewpoint but simply asks the viewer to consider the subject. The artist was selected by the Goldsmiths Curatorial Programme to exhibit in the 2006 Celeste Art Prize, selected by Stephen Snoddy (NAGW) and Chris Hammond (MOT) to show in New Art Birmingham 2007 and in 2007 to show in the Jerwood Drawing Prize.
