The work focuses on a dilution of personal, cultural and social identity and the credibility of the signs that construct it. The images both berate the un-authentic, whilst questioning the viability of an alternative. The scenes and details are carefully selected to represent recurring cliches in our culture. Signifiers of modern western society (roads, waiting rooms, nature, swimming pools, airports etc) become the backdrop for scenes in which the characters seem displaced or alien. The random subjects are contradicted by the uniform size and scale of the images, and the repetitive colours offer a pattern that hints at a fragmented order of truth.
