— Visual artists support Cure Leukaemia auction

— 27 April 2009

Thirteen artists from Visual have donated work to the 2009 Art Auction, in aid of Cure Leukaemia.  Organisers are aiming to raise £10,000 from the sale, which will take place in Birmingham on 19th May, under the expert supervision of Martin Lambert of Humberts Fine Art Auctioneers.

The artists from Visual who have donated work are: Colin Carruthers, Julie de Bastion, Ross Jones, Dan Burwood, Chris Keenan, Stuart Mills, Stuart Whipps, Sara Preisler, Jennifer Collier, John Garghan, Eryka Isaak, Betty Pepper and Ruth Spaak.  Chris Keenan's beautiful image "Franz Joseph Glacier", was chosen as the main promotional image and appears on the print and publicity.

Professor Craddock, founding trustee of Cure Leukaemia and Professor of Haemato-Oncology at University Hospital Birmingham said, "The Art Auction plays a unique and integral role in raising the funds to enable patients to have access to life-saving new drugs and treatment therapies.  Without the generosity and talent of the artists the event would not be possible and I offer them my sincere thanks for their support."

The Art Auction takes place on the evening on 19th May at Wragge & Co, Birmingham.  Tickets are free, but limited.  More information is available here and you can make a donation to support Cure Leukaemia here.
